Mrs. Mina Kondner has taught math for over 2 decades.
She has seen first hand how her students, who far too often start with a fear of math, progress not only to love math but also embrace it in a way that lasts a lifetime.
The methods have also been developed by Mrs. Kondner for students from Pre K -12. Unlike most teaching methods, modules designed by Mrs. Kondner are not categorized by age but on an understanding of manipulating numbers using base ten math. Students will abandon rote learning and computational math and will learn to adopt a method, which has a foundation in expressing and manipulating numbers/quantities with reference to place value. In most situations, calculators are not allowed in class. With a firm foundation rooted in this method students accelerate from number recognition to addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and beyond.
An important part of Mina's methods involves recognizing and dealing with the psychological state each student brings to class. Mina observes student interaction with the teacher to determine if there is resistance, self-esteem, or confidence issues that need to be addressed. She understands that these are important factors that play a significant role in thwarting the learning process. She has much experience in breaking down resistance and building up self-esteem and confidence.
